Judge has drops drugs weapon
charges which were Don Omar
In Puerto Rico a judge has dropped drug and weapons
charges agains popular singer Don Omar.
Ploice had asked that the case be dropped because of
conflicting stories from 2 police officers which
originally arrested Don Omar.
The nearly 2 week trial of Don Omar ended on Tuesday.
Don Omar was arrested in Sept 04 after ploice said they
found in don omars h2 Hummer with a gun,
a small bag of drugs and $1.2k in cash.
Don Omar could have faced up to 10 years in prison if
found guilty.
Don Omar is one of reggaeton biggest stars.
Don Omar won a 2007 Billboard Latin Music Award for his
album King of Kings.

Don omar made a appearance at the Charity Urban Music
Festival will debut the first of a series of benefit
festivals in Orlando, Florida next month during the
fourth of July weekend.
Ludacris, Saigon, Trey Songz, T-Pain, Pitbull, Don Omar,
Nina Sky, and others will perform July 4 and 5 at the
Orange County Convention Center.
A percentage of the ticket sales from the two day music
festival will go to the Central and Northern Florida
chapter of the Make A Wish Foundation.
The Charity Urban Music Festival plans to travel to
different cities and will also select a different
charity to benefit each year the festival takes place.
Mr Manuelle, backed by more than a dozen musicians and
singers, took a dizzying tour of his 15-year career,
including hits like “Tengo Ganas” and “Qué Habría Sido
de Mí.” A supremely controlled performer, he will never
have the lurid appeal of a Héctor Lavoe — the 1970s
salsa star who helped cement the reputation of New
York’s Fania Records — instead preferring the restraint
of Gilberto Santa Rosa, his mentor. SEO
In recent years Mr. Manuelle hasn’t been above a little
pandering, though, working with the reggaetón stars Don
Omar and Héctor “El Father” on his 2006 album, “Decisión
Unánime,” to limited success. At recent concerts at
Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden — both of which
have been released as live CDs — Mr. Manuelle brought
guests to the table. But on Sunday he wisely kept the
stage to himself.
Instead he played to his strengths, and to his fans’
loyalty. The lone song on “Soy” written wholly by Mr.
Manuelle is “Mi Salsa,” a Faniaesque celebration of the
genre. It’s savvy, toasting pioneers old and
name-checking countries across the Latin diaspora. It’s
a song that only makes sense coming from a performer who
knows his place in the tradition, and in delivering it
so effortlessly Mr. Manuelle showed that it’s possible
to be mature without being dull.
Also Don Omar band Los Chikles at age 10 in his native
Puerto Rico — where Martin started his career with
Menudo. David joined Martin in 1998 and has worked with
the likes of Carlos Santana, Patti Austin and Filipino
singing sensation Martin Nievera.
Bermudez, a native of Venezuela, is a drummer who has
traveled the world accompanying such well-known artists
as Celia Cruz, Tito Nieves, Tony Vega and Don Omar.
The band includes Johnny Rivera on guitar and background
vocals, Rigo Flores on bass, Dan Aukhus on keyboards and
Lilly Arce on vocals.
